Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

AHCPGD302 - Plan and maintain plant displays

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Prepare plans for plant displays

  1. Inspect the display site for aesthetic, environmental and physical attributes
  2. Identify occupational Health and Safety (OHS) hazards, assess risks assess and implement controls
  3. Select, use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) according to procedures
  4. Identify on the display plan the location and projected life of the display
  5. Identify on the display plan the plant types suitable for aesthetic effects, environmental and physical attributes
  6. Identify on the display plan actions, timelines and work organisation, in consultation with the supervisor or manager.
  7. Confirm the availability of plants, materials and services for preparing the display
  8. Select materials, tools, equipment and machinery according to the display plan and enterprise work procedures
